HYMAN NFT is my favorite project for HYMAN Cannabis that I created while working at Brand-On Marketing. Incorporating VR, the metaverse, and directly spoofing Bored Ape- It was one of the first projects that HYMAN creative director Darren Dabish pitched to me. He had compiled several frames for a loose concept and we discussed bringing it to life.
From there, I began to create a storyboard that incorporated a female model going into VR to become the 'NFT' monkey on the packaging designed by Robynn Verhaeghe.
From modelling, rigging, and animating the monkey character from scratch, to creating multiple heavily-detailed scenes. This is one of the most complex and well-enveloped 3D projects I have created to date. HYMAN Cannabis brought in Diego Cruz to record the footage I needed and Anthony Rassam to capture fashion promotional photos.
I directed this project from cradle to grave, and adapted the full video for both vertical and horizontal. This project was well recieved and help sell out all NFT-strained Pre-Rolls & Flower Pre-packs.
This project also established HYMAN's future forward aesthetic, and the brand as an industry heavy-hitter. It was HYMAN's second most viewed Instagram reel upon release with the full series amassing 30k views to date.
Overall, I am incredibly proud of what we were able to create- the transition of the 3D monkey character smoking the 3D joint then glitching back into reality of the HYMAN girl smoking is still one of my cleanest video transitions to this day! This project was only possible with our clear shared vison.
Thank you so much to Model Nisa Arte everyone at MEDFarms, HYMAN Cannabis and Brand-On Marketing that helped bring this vision into reality!
Below are the standalone reels that previewed the release of 'NFT'.
